AUR Alumni Return

On one brilliant sunny day in January, we had not one but two #AURReturns from former students! I was thrilled to visit with one of my former advisees, Michael Zaitz (BUS’18), who was in Italy vacationing with family for the New Year’s festivities. Mike has been with pharmacy care supplier Omnicell in Sales for the last couple of years and enjoys life in Tampa, Florida. We met in the Student Lounge, where he took advantage of the relative peace to get some work done! Have laptop will travel! We shared one million memories from his time at AUR, including the fabulous BUS field trips and sweating in Patania’s ECO classes. Mike is hoping to return to Rome to join us for the big 55th anniversary Reunion in September!

Later in the afternoon, we welcomed Georgios Kostoplou, who spent a year with us in 2003-4, in the first cohort that Belgium’s Vesalius College sent to AUR, which also included Maxim Rinaldi and Axel Stael Von Holstein.

He entertained wife Valeria and his boys with stories of his (crazy!) time at AUR, and showed them the incredible views from the terraces at the top of Building A and Building B. George and Valeria met in Miami while studying for their MBA, and now both work in Valeria’s native Bolivia, and have a number of businesses focused on food production and distribution. The boys enjoyed receiving matching AUR t-shirts, and George was thrilled to get another AUR sweatshirt to flank the one he has been wearing since the very first year the BizClub launched the AUR merchandise line! A real vintage piece!!!

We love welcoming alumni back to campus – let us know if you are coming to town! We will put together some swag and brew an espresso!
